NUTRITION COACHING

Start with what you eat. Physical training is only one part of living a healthy and active life. When you pair our workouts with good eating habits, you’ll supercharge and maintain your results.

What is it & how does it work?

Nutrition coaching is like always having a nutritionist with you, helping you make better choices, and explaining why those choices will be better, both in the moment and in the long term, as well as holding you accountable for the actions and habits you have committed to’. 

HOW TO GET STARTED

 

1.    First you need to get a good understanding of where you are at currently. If you are local to Bournemouth, we can arrange for you to come into the gym and use our body composition scanner. This will allow us to see all sorts of stats about your weight, muscle mass, body fat, water volume, as well as your ideal daily energy intake (calories) in regard to your goal and body type.

2.    Next we must clarify your goal. You may already know what you want to achieve from your nutrition intervention. Perhaps you want to drop 7lbs of body fat, perhaps you want to gain lean muscle or improve performance in the gym, or maybe you just want to learn a little more about your current habits, and how your body feels when fuelled optimally. Either way, once we have this goal sorted, we can move onto the next step and make a plan.

3.    The next step is to make a plan.  We have your required daily energy intake for your goal, so the next step is to identify where this energy will come from, i.e. what sort of foods, how much of each you should be looking to consume, and any timing requirements to optimise energy levels and performance? We provide education around this, both at the starting point and as ongoing support as part of the process. 

4.    Once we have you set up with your plan, you know what your days and habits should look like, now it’s your turn… go away and put what you have learnt to use.  This doesn’t mean you are on your own, not by a long shot!! There will be a coach that you can contact any time with questions or concerns, we will keep In touch during the week with hints, tips, and new meal ideas, and we will also check in weekly if required to keep you accountable and make sure you are on the right track. Remember; practice doesn’t make perfect, practice makes better! We are all on our own journey! 

5.    Finally, you will have access to a closed Facebook group filled with other like-minded people, all looking to better themselves and improve their nutrition. This is a great, safe space to ask questions, voice worries or concerns, or just generally keep an eye on for ideas, advice, or ‘food’spo’ (food inspiration). 

6.    Moving forward we will keep track of your progress, alter anything required along the way to maintain optimal energy levels and results, and keep you on track towards your goal. When you have reached your goal, you can either go off into the world with all of your new knowledge, ready and able to fuel your body for optimum performance… or you can stay on the team, and have monthly check ins, just to make sure you stay on the right track, and have the option to ask questions etc of your coach, or any of the community that have helped you this far!
