Lockdown 2.0 update

I hope you are all well and you’ve managed to keep busy during lockdown 2.0. Hopefully you learnt from lockdown 1.0 and had a plan and structure to your week / month.

For those that asked for extra programming hopefully you have enjoyed following a program to improve an area of weakness.

I wonder how many of you have put up Xmas decorations and are starting to celebrate Christmas early.

Quick update on the Guidance received by UK active:

  • We will be returning to the gym on the 2nd December with the same class structure as before lockdown, classes of 10 with a 50 min session to allow for cleaning.

  • The rule of 6 does not apply to us as we have Covid 19 rules in place.

  • Tier 1 and 2 means we can continue with social distanced classes like before, rule of 6 only applies in classes under 2 meters.

  • There has been nothing said about Tier 3 but I have been informed gyms won’t close, classes will just change to an open gym approach so you can come to the gym and perform the work out but will need to stay within a box during your visit.

So nothing has changed, I ask you to carry on with what we did before lockdown.

  • Wait outside until called in, I will try to ensure classes change over quicker due to bad weather

(I suggest you don’t walk around from your cars until 5 mins before the class starts, only then will you be allowed access provided a mask is worn and waiting is kept to the reception area only as this is under 2 meters.)

  • Sanitise your hands on arrival and throughout your visit when needed.

  • If you feel unwell or not 100% please have a rest day and see how you feel the next day, this hasn’t changed just because of Covid we have always had this rule. Please don’t risk anyone else’s health.

  • Please maintain 2 meters distance at all time (I know it sucks but we have to do it).

  • Depending on the workout, cleaning down will either be done by you or the coach.

  • Please depart swiftly via the back door and sanitise your hands on departure, let’s do our part to stop the spread.

(Please do not congregate in the carpark, and wear masks where possible upon exit.)

Just wanted to say a huge thank you once again for all your continued support, it does mean a lot to me and my family that we get to re-open our doors as some business shut theirs for good.

I can’t wait to be back in the gym with you all and look forward to celebrating our 10 year anniversary in whatever way or means possible.
